Prosecutors Drop Charges Against Dolphins Player

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - Miami-Dade County prosecutors dropped a battery charge against reserve Miami Dolphins defensive back Jonathon Amaya in relation to an alleged attack on a South Beach taxi driver.

Prosecutors told the court in mid-January the case could not move forward.

Amaya was arrested in November after the Dolphins beat the Seattle Seahawks. Amaya was accused of attacking and choking a taxi driver on South Beach.

Amaya played in a total of 12 games for the Dolphins last season, mostly on special teams.
