FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Fort Lauderdale man thought his girlfriend was cheating on him, so he allegedly stabbed her seven times, killing her, according to police.

Michael Jerome Mills, 61, was charged with murder and was being held without bail in Broward County Main Jail for the alleged stabbing death of his girlfriend, Teresa Johnson, 46, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Johnson was found by police outside of her apartment with seven stab wounds across her body. The woman was pronounced dead after emergency surgery at Broward Health Medical Center, police said.
