MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat will finally get their long-awaited visit to the White House for winning the 2012 NBA Championship at the end of January.

The White House announced Wednesday that President Barack Obama would welcome the Heat to the White House on January 28. The White House also said President Obama would recognize the Heat’s ongoing support to the military and their families.

The Heat will be in the middle of a four-game road trip when it makes the trip to the White House. The Heat plays the previous night in Boston and play two days later in against the Brooklyn Nets. The Heat then faces the Pacers and Raptors in the first three days of February.

The Heat are scheduled to meet the President at 1:35 p.m. depending on his schedule.
