KEY WEST (CBSMiami) – Runners to your marks. Nearly 2,000 runners pounded the pavement early Sunday morning at the Key West Half-Marathon.
Most of the field competed in the half-marathon, while some 500 participants traversed a shorter 5K course.
The race through Key West’s historic Old Town and scenic waterfront is in its 15th year.
Acclaimed as one of the United States’ top winter half-marathons, the event typically attracts participants from throughout the United States and several other countries to compete in Key West’s balmy January climate.
