January Heat Streak One For Record Books

MIAMI (CBS4) – Our unseasonably warm first half of January will be one for the record book.

With highs expected to be near 85 on Thursday, this will cap off a 16 day stretch with temperatures 80 and above which is a record streak for January. But Thursday will also put an end to the heat streak.

After a day of scattered showers with a warm wind, temperatures will take a dive Thursday night behind a strong cold front. Lows will be in the 50s area wide with feels like temperatures in the 40s by Friday morning. Winds will be gusty as well through Friday.

Highs on Friday will only be in the upper 60s. There may be a few sprinkles with clouds and sun at times. Over the weekend temperatures will moderate into the mid 70s to near 80 by Monday. Each day will be partly sunny with a few spotty showers. The next strong cold front will arrive Tuesday with another dip in temperatures for midweek next week.
