MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Usually Road Rangers go to accident scenes to assist drivers. On Sunday, two Road Rangers ended up right in the middle of one.

Just before 3 p.m., a Road Ranger tow truck was involved in a crash involving a Mercedes SUV and a minivan, according to Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll.

Witnesses told police the driver of Road Ranger truck was loading a disabled blue BMW onto his flat-bed in the northbound I-95 Express Lanes, near the NW 62nd Street exit, while a second Road Ranger Tow Truck provided traffic safety assistance.

The Mercedes SUV, which was traveling northbound, struck the rear of the second tow truck and side swiped a minivan. The collision caused the tow truck to spin around, sending debris flying into multiple lanes of traffic.

The driver of the second tow truck, who walking back to it, was not injured. The driver of the Mercedes was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was listed as stable. The family of four in the minivan was evaluated by paramedics for bumps and bruises. The BMW and flat-bed tow truck were not damaged in the accident.
