HOLLYWOOD (CBS) – Police have released the name of the man who died after he was struck by a car over the weekend.
Jeffrey Howard, 52, was on his bicycle around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of N 66th Avenue and Taft Street when he was hit by a Volvo driven by Tony Shilingford.
Howard died on the scene.
“I couldn’t do anything for him, he was gone. I assure you he was gone the minute he was hit. The impact was so loud it was incredible. It was very, very loud,” said Luis Tirado.
Shillingford remained on scene and cooperated with the police. There have been no charges filed against Shillingford; the investigation is ongoing.
