MIA Concourse Evacuated Over “Suspicious” Item In Bag

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Adding to the already hectic pace at Miami International Airport, an upper level concourse had to be evacuated Monday after a suspicious item was found in a bag.

Airport spokesman Mark Henderson said travelers ushered out of a second level concourse, from J-H on the terminal side, as a precautionary measure.

Henderson said the suspicious item was found by screeners at the Central Checkpoint in the south terminal.

The all clear was given around 1:15 p.m. and passengers were allowed to return.
