7-Eleven Clerk Beaten During Robbery

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – Hollywood police are investigating a robbery early Monday morning in which a convenience store clerk was roughed up before a trio of armed hooded thieves took the cash.

It happened just before 3 a.m. at the 7-Eleven in the 3400 block of Sheridan Street.

The three armed individuals, dressed in black with hoods over their heads and bandanas over their faces, stormed into the store. One of the armed subjects forced the clerk into the back office. Once there, the clerk was beaten and the armed robber fired off a round. Fortunately, the bullet did not strike the clerk.

Meanwhile, the other two individuals removed the cash drawer from the register and all three took off.

The clerk is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Regional Hospital where he's being treated for head and facial injuries.
