No Contact Order Dropped Against Chad Johnson

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A No Contact order against former Miami Dolphin Chad Johnson has been dropped after his ex-wife appeared in court Monday and said she's no longer afraid of her former husband.

The moment signaled a key moment in Johnson's current domestic legal trouble.

Because Evelyn Lozada told the judge she's not afraid of him, the judge modified the 'No Contact Order' so they can communicate with each other if they want to.

The No Contact Order was part of a plea deal Johnson cut with prosecutors in September.

Johnson was also ordered to pay Lozada more than $2,000 for medical expenses she incurred after he allegedly head-butted her during a fight last August.

He was also ordered to continue counseling.

The six time Pro-Bowl wide receiver was arrested on a simple battery domestic violence charge for the August incident which took place during an argument in front of their Davie home. Lozada reportedly found a receipt for a box of condoms and confronted Johnson about it.

Under terms of the original plea deal, Johnson pled no contest and was ordered to serve one year of probation, complete batters' intervention counseling and pay medical restitution.

After Johnson's arrest, he was summarily cut by the Miami Dolphins in a scene that was caught on camera by the HBO show "Hard Knocks."

Evelyn Lozada was once engaged to Miami Heat star Antoine Walker and is best known from the reality show Basketball Wives.

She and Johnson married in July but after the fight in August, they quickly divorced.
