MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An injured man was rushed to the hospital after he was stabbed on a Pinecrest street.
Forty nine year old David Mercado, who police believe is homeless, was standing near SW 136th Street and the Busway when a man in black Ford 150 called him over. When Mercado went to the truck’s window, he was stabbed.
The vehicle then took off.
Mercado was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center where he was listed as stable.
The stabbing took place near The Falls. Police will be checking nearby traffic and security cameras to see if they captured anything that would help in their investigation.
Police are concerned that this random act of violence could become a trend.
