Davie Cop Charged With Battery

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Davie police officer was taken into custody after he allegedly hit and shoved two 17-year old girls.

Timothy Scott Donohue, 46, has been charged with two counts of child abuse and two counts of battery.

It began just after 3:15 p.m. Wednesday when the girls arrived home and put their backpacks, papers and bibles on a counter near the kitchen. When the teens went to watch TV, Donohue knocked the items off the counter, according to his complaint affidavit.

Donohue then reportedly told the girls to pick up their things. When one of the girls told Donohue he was going to Hell for throwing a bible on to the floor, he replied "Shut up or I'm going to knock you teeth down your throat," according to the report.

The girl then reportedly argued back that he couldn't touch her. When he replied "Yes, I can", she stood up as he approached her, according to the report. When he was standing in front of her, he allegedly hit her on the left cheek and eye with a loosely closed hand.

Afraid that she might be hit again, the report said the girl tried to push him back but he didn't budge. Donohue then reportedly shoved back, forcing the girl to the ground.

The second 17-year old girl then tried to intervene but Donohue allegedly grabbed her by the throat and backed her into a stairwell before letting her go.

Both teens were able to make it out of the house and call police.
