One Dead, Several Hurt In Pompano Beach Crash

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – A Fort Lauderdale man died, several others were injured, in a frightening accident in Pompano Beach Saturday morning.

The deadly accident took place around 7:55 a.m. at the intersection of Sample Road and Powerline Road, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Dunold Jean was headed south on Powerline Road when he reportedly failed to stop at a red light and collided with four eastbound vehicles, including one driven by 31-year old Justin Crouse.

When the Honda rolled over and Crouse, who was not wearing a seat belt, he was thrown from the car.  The car then tumbled over him and he was pinned underneath. Crouse was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several others were taken to Broward Health North hospital as well.

Charges are could be pending after the investigation is complete, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
