Report: BSO Spokesman & Undersheriff Resigning
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff's Office is already getting a new sheriff, but Friday it was learned the BSO will also need a new undersheriff and head of media relations.
According to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald, undersheriff Thomas Wheeler and head of media relations Jim Leljedal plan to submit their resignations next week to the BSO.
Leljedal has worked at the BSO for 29 years and, according to the Herald, he had received word from newly elected Sheriff Scott Israel that he didn't want Leljedal to say in the position.
Israel won the Sheriff's job in an upset of current Sheriff Al Lamberti. Israel could be announcing more new hires in the next week, according to the Herald.
