Cadillac Thieves Who Crashed Car Into Home In Court Wed.

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Thieves who stole a man's Cadillac from a convenience store then crashed it into a family's house – just feet from the homeowner – were schedule to appear in bond court Wednesday afternoon.

Strockson Delphum, 22, and Ed Philo, 21, were charged with grand theft auto, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and resisting police.

Randy Pericles owns the Cadillac that was stolen. He said he left it running while he ran into the convenience to get something.

"I left my lottery ticket," said Pericles. "Not my lucky night at all."

According to the arrest affidavit, that's when Delphum and Philo took advantage, stealing the car and driving off.

An officer tried to stop the car but the two men sped up, flying through stop signs.

Nearby, Richard Turner was relaxing in his bedroom at 930 NE 24th Street, with his wife and adult son inside.

Around 6:20 p.m., the two men crashed Pericles' Cadillac through Turner's house."All of a sudden there was an explosion. Everything went dark and all this chunks of concrete and dust came flying all over me," homeowner Richard Turner told CBS4.

After the crash, Delphum and Philo took off running, and then were captured by police.

The Turners said they will likely live with family or at a hotel, putting a serious damper on their holiday season.

The family has homeowner's insurance and plans to repair the home.
