AT&T Adds Two More Cell Sites In South Florida

MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – AT&T customers in Olympia Heights and Plantation recently got an upgrade to their cell phone service.

The company activated new 4G LTE cell sites in the two towns, expanding mobile Internet coverage and capacity.

AT&T claims the upgrade will improve cell service near Southwest 18th Street and Southwest 157th Avenue.

In Plantation, the new cell site is located on Lauderdale West Drive, between Pine Island Road and University Drive. This site is to improve coverage north to Sunset Strip Road, east to Hiatus Road, south to Northwest Eighth Street and west to Northwest 136th Ave.

"Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience, and they'll be able to download, upload, stream and game faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network," AT&T Florida President Marshall Criser III said in a statement.

"As part of the South Florida community, we're always looking for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage, and our investment in the local wireless network is another way we're accomplishing that."

The new cell sites come after other upgrades across South Florida were announced in October.
