Keys Man Wanted In Stabbing Turns Himself In To Dade Police

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An Islamorada man wanted for stabbing his ex-girlfriend in the chest turned himself in to police in Miami-Dade.

On Tuesday, Alexander Flores, 33, reportedly got angry when he learned that a woman who he used to date was seeing someone else. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said he got drunk, broke into the woman's home and stabbed her.

Flores then reportedly held the knife to her throat and demanded that she leave the house with him. As they were walking out the door, Flores spotted a friend of the woman in the front yard. He then let her go and ran off.

The woman was taken to Mariner's Hospital and then airlifted to Miami for treatment.

On Wednesday, Flores flagged down a Miami-Dade officer and said he wanted to turn himself in.

Detectives from Monroe County drove to Miami and picked him up.

Flores admitted to stabbing the 33-year-old woman, according to the sheriff's office.

Flores has been charged with aggravated battery, burglary, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
