Mystery Tub Appears On South Beach Jetty

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – We've all heard of 'love on the rocks' but tub on the rocks – now that's different.

A white bath tub mysteriously appeared this week on the rocks of a jetty along Government Cut off of South Beach.

Some people have speculated that it may be an art installation for the upcoming Art Basel.

Others think it might just be a prank. Whatever it is, the tub may not be there for very long.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission considers the tub trash which could pose a hazard to boaters if it ended up in the water, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.

They'll ask the City of Miami Beach to remove it before it ends up in the ocean.

This is not the first random object to land in Miami's waters.

In January 2011, a baby grand piano was found perched on top of a sandbar in Biscayne Bay.

After days of speculation, it turned out to be an art project by Miami Shores teen Nicholas Harrington, his father, brother and a neighbor who set the piano afire on the sandbar on New Year's Day.
