Police ID Men Involved In Police Shooting At Flea Market

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police have identified the two men shot by police in the parking lot of a Miami-Dade flea market.

Police say Lebron Warren, 23, was killed and Michael Parks, 21, was injured in the shooting which took place at the Flea Market USA, located at NW 79th Street and 30th Avenue.

According to Miami-Dade police there were reports of a home invasion in the area. The victim reportedly called police, described the suspect's van and may have even followed the suspects to the flea market.

"Officers who were already here in the area working a holiday proactive robbery detail were able to quickly respond and locate that vehicle," said Lt. Rosanna Cordero-Stutz with Miami-Dade Police.

Police said officers in both a marked and unmarked vehicle, approached the van.

The driver, Lebron Warren, reportedly hit the gas and rammed one of the police cars. That's when police say the shooting started.

"We know our officers were involved in the shooting. At this point I can't confirm if the subjects also shot," said Cordero-Stutz.

The driver of the van died on the scene."

Parks was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was rushed into surgery.

"I heard like bam bam bam that was it," said Dagoberto Lanuza who lives nearby.

No officers were hurt.
