BSO Seeks Assault Rifle Carrying Pawn Shop Robbers

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Robbery detectives from the Broward Sheriff's Office are looking for two men who robbed a Pompano Beach pawn shop at gunpoint but not just any gun, an assault rifle which he hid underneath a jacket as he entered the store.

Surveillance video captured the robbery, which happened at 2:53 p.m. on October 27 at the Value Pawn, 3181 N. Dixie Hwy, Pompano Beach.

One suspect brandished an assault rifle at frightened customers including a pregnant woman and a man holding an infant and forced them onto the floor during the ordeal. The other suspect sprayed mace at three victims as they forced employees to give them cash.

No customers or employees were seriously injured.

The two bad guys escaped with cash, a gold chain and various personal items from victims.

The first suspect is 5' 9" and 170 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket and long, dark pants. He wore long dreads, but witnesses said they may have been fake.

The second suspect is about 5' 11" and 175 pounds with dark skin and short hair. He wore a black T-shirt, red shorts and a blue baseball cap. Both seem to be about 25 years ago.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.
