Miami Man Kidnapped, Robbed At Gunpoint

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police are looking for three men who kidnapped a man off the street at gun point and then robbed him.

Last Thursday, October 11th, Pedro Ortega was working on a driveway in front of a home at 2349 NW 52nd Street when a man walked up and zapped him with a Taser like device. A second man then pointed a gun at 38-year old Ortega's head and demanded his money.

They then forced him into a white cargo van, tied his wrists, covered his mouth with duct tape and drove him to his home in the 3200 block of NW 23rd Avenue.

While one of the men stayed with Ortega in the back of the van, the armed man and a third man stole two computers out of Ortega's home. The armed man then demanded that Ortega tell him where he kept his money. He did and they retrieved it.

They then took him to a storage shed in the back of the home and told him not to come out for ten minutes.

When Ortega did come out he found that his 2001 Ford Econoline van, which he had left at 2349 NW 52nd Street, had also been taken. The van's license plate number AXN G21.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477) or (866) 471-8477.
