Davie Pit Bull Stabbed In Dispute Over Money

DAVIE (CBS4) - A pit bull was stabbed and a man suffered dog bite wounds after police say a dispute over money turned violent.

Davie Police responded to the scene on the 7300 block of Northwest 37th Street Friday night and found a man with bite wounds and the pit bull with several stab wounds to it's neck.

Police say the victim went to the home to talk to the homeowner about money he was owed for car repairs. Police say the two men argued, and the homeowner released the pit bull.

The dog reportedly charged the man and bit him. According to authorities, the victim pulled out a small pocket knife and stabbed the dog to defend himself.

The pit bull was taken to the veterinarian for treatment. It is unclear the extent of the dog's injuries.

The dog's owner was arrested and charged with simple battery.
