MIAMI (CBS4) – Miami-Dade Water and Sewer crews were working to repair a water main break in Miami Thursday night.
The break occurred along NW 15 Avenue at 36 Street just after 10 p.m.
Water was seen gushing from the ground for more than an hour as crews worked to determine which water line was damaged.
A minor sinkhole was starting to form Thursday night, but the road will need to be excavated further to make necessary repairs, Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Iggy Carroll said.
Residents in the area may have noticed decreased water pressure during the incident.
Water may have to be shut off to nearby homes and businesses as repairs are made.
Traffic along NW 15 Avenue will be blocked Friday morning. Traffic on 36 Street was not affected.
