Body Of Missing Man Found Off Haulover Beach

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Divers recovered the body of a 21-year-old man Monday who vanished after a small boat capsized off Haulover Park.

After an extensive search by the Coast Guard, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers and several police agencies Angel Bello's body was found on the ocean floor not far from where the boat he was in capsized early Monday morning.

Bello and his friend 20 year old Jonathan Rodriguez headed out on a fishing trip just after 5:30 a.m. Their boat, approximately 15 feet in length, began to take on water and capsized east of Haulover Park.

"That cut is notorious for being pretty aggressive and very violent as you're going out," said Officer Jorge Pino, of Florida Fish and Wildlife.

Rodriguez was able to make it to shore and call for help. He was taken to a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on NE 151st Street where he was questioned about what happened.

At least five agencies using three helicopters, boats and jet skis searched for about seven hours. After about six hours of coming up with nothing FWC officials took Rodriguez out on a boat to pinpoint where his tiny boat had capsized.

"He put us right on the spot where he thought he last saw his friend alive and from that we put divers in the water and we were able to find him shortly there after," said Pino.

Distraught family members were too emotional to talk about their loss.
