Boy Struck In Front Of Pompano Beach Hotel Has Died

POMPANO BEACH – A young boy who was struck by a vehicle after he ran into a street to retrieve a ball has died.

It happened around 10:40 a.m. in front of the Forum Hotel in the 600 block of SW 3rd Street.

Deshae Gordon, 3, left the hotel with several family members including his grandmother. While crossing the street in front of a stopped van, Gordon dropped a ball. When he went back to get it, the driver of the van, 50-year old Abaner Penetus of Deerfield Beach, didn't see him and struck the boy, accord to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

He was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital. From there he was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he died shortly after noon.
