DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) — The owner of a building that houses a check-cashing store was left with quite a mess after an SUV smashed into her building early Saturday morning.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), a black Suzuki SUV went across the median of Griffin Road shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, crashing into the Dania Beach store, located at 4591 Griffin Road.

The BSO said the SUV, which appeared to have been traveling eastbound, crossed the median, then crossed the westbound lanes and kept going, right into the storefront.

The male driver and female passenger were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital South with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the BSO.

The BSO is investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
