Company Based At Miami International Airport To Lay Off 153

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — More than 150 transportation and warehousing workers at Miami International Airport will lose their jobs in a matter of weeks.

Regional Elite Airlines Service, located at the airport, warned the state of Florida on Tuesday that it will lay off 153 employees.

Layoff dates for workers at the company—located at 2100 N.W. 42nd Ave.—would be Dec. 4. to Dec. 18.

According to Wikipiedia, Regional Elite Airline Services had been a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines that serves as a ground handler for regional airlines.

After losing several contracts, the company informed workers on Aug. 7 that it would cease all operations by the end of the year.
