MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – One person was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds after what Miramar police are calling an attempted home invasion.

It happened after midnight when several people reportedly tried to break into a residence at 5234 SW 149th Avenue. Someone inside the home grabbed a gun and started shooting at the suspected robbers, according to police. One person was hit multiple times and taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The others fled.

No one inside the home was injured.

Police have not released the injured person’s name.
