"Hotel Transylvania" Opens For Business Friday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The premise of Hotel Transylvania is simple enough, Dracula, played by Adam Sandler, operates a high-end resort away from the human world catering only to monsters. Then one day, a human boy, played by Adam Samberg, discovers the resort and falls for the count's teen-aged daughter Mavis played by Selena Gomez.

That's when daddy Dracula goes into overprotective mode.

"So this human, Andy Samberg's character, comes into this hotel and we see each other and fall in love for the first time and it's amazing," said Selena Gomez.

"The whole voiceover thing was awesome. We did everything separate, so it was a bit strange, but Adam was there for most of my sessions. It was great to have him there and get his opinions. He was so funny," Gomez said.

Sandler produced the film, which in addition to Gomez and Samberg features Kevin James, Fran Drescher and more. But Selena was never face-to-face with her on-screen love.

"No, but I met Andy in Toronto and we both saw the movie for the first time and he was like; 'I believed it. I believed that we're in love!' I was like that is awesome!" Gomez said.

Selena's real life love is of course superstar Justin Bieber. The couple are photographed everywhere all while trying to keep their lives private.

"I've seen you grow up now, we all have, what is the one thing you have learned through all this and have come out the wonderful woman you are?" CBS4's Lisa Petrillo asked Gomez.

"Thanks! I love what I do. I really do, so I've just been having an amazing time doing great projects, but the older I get the more I realize I enjoy being off more and spending time with friends and family. So, it's been good," said Gomez.

Hotel Transylvania opens in theaters this weekend.
