Miami In Running To Host First Post-BCS Title Game

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The city of Miami has been identified as a finalist to host the first ever college football championship game at the end of the 2014 four-team playoff.

Other sites include Tempe, Pasadena, and New Orleans, the home sites of the Fiesta, Rose, and Sugar Bowls respectively.

The BCS said commissioners will begin talking to organizers from the games immediately about the possibility of hosting the first national championship game to be played under the new playoff system adopted this year.

The game is tentatively set for January 15, 2015.

Miami has hosted multiple national championship games under the BCS, including the upcoming BCS National Championship game as well as countless Super Bowls, major concerts and even Wrestlemania at Sun Life Stadium.
