Ryan To Miami's Cubans: "I'll Be Tougher Than Obama Was On Castro"

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Visiting Little Havana and the famous Versailles restaurant Saturday morning, Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan courted Cuban-American voters with promises to be tougher on the Castro regime than President Barack Obama.

On Saturday afternoon, Ryan will hold a town hall meeting at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Miami's Cuban-American congressional representatives and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's son Craig touted Ryan's credentials in English and Spanish for the breakfast crowd.

Ryan said Romney and he would help get Latinos back to work. He also said America offered a better life to immigrants seeking freedom and prosperity. Cubans benefit from the so-called wet foot/dry foot policy that allows most Cubans who reach U.S. shores to stay.
