Report: Texans Knew Fins Snap Count From Hard Knocks

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If NFL head coaches and front offices were nervous to take part in the HBO show "Hard Knocks," then what Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt said Tuesday may scare them away from ever taking part.

According to profootballtalk.com, Watt said Tuesday that he picked up the Dolphins snap count by watching the show that featured the Dolphins this year. Watt backed off a little saying you can pick up the same information from preseason games, but said Hard Knocks definitely helped.

The Dolphins offensive line was manhandled by Watt and the Texans during last Sunday's loss. Houston's line helped knock down two passes that wound up being interceptions and held the Dolphins running game to just 79 yards rushing on 19 carries.

The Texans also sacked rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill three times during the game and held him to a passer rating of just 39.0 for the game.

Watt's observation could be the end of the long running HBO show. Teams were very hesitant to take part in the show and multiple teams turned it down before the Dolphins eventually said yes in a decision that may now regret.
