Obama, Romney At UM Next Week

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – In an effort to capture more young and Hispanic voters, both President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Governor Mitt Romney will be in Miami next week.

They are scheduled to take part in taped interviews for Univision at the University of Miami.

Gov. Romney will be interviewed on Wednesday, President Obama the following day.

These two special programs, scheduled to take place in the BankUnited Center Fieldhouse, will be conversations with the candidates. While all questions will be posed in Spanish, they will be answered in English by the candidates and translated to Spanish where necessary.

As expected tickets for these two events are be very limited. UM Young & College Democrats and certain affiliated organizations will have initial access to the student tickets for President Obama's event. Similarly, UM College Republicans and certain affiliated organizations will have initial access to the student tickets for Governor Romney's event.

The remaining student tickets will be distributed via a lottery system. All currently enrolled students will receive a personalized email with information on how to enter the ticket lottery. The email will contain a link to the Ticket Lottery Entry Page. Students can enter for one or both of the lotteries. Winners will be randomly selected and notified via email. Any tickets that are not claimed by the deadline will be re-distributed to alternates. Tickets are non-transferable, and must be used by the student who won the lottery.

There are no tickets available for faculty or staff.
