Canes Lose Starting Linebacker For Season
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Hurricanes outside linebacker Ramon Buchanan will once again miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury, according to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald.
Buchanan injured the same right knee that knocked him out of the final eight games of the 2011 season. Buchanan suffered the injury during Miami's 52-13 shellacking at the hands of Kansas State.
"He'll undergo surgery this week," Miami coach Al Golden told the Herald. "I'm terribly upset for the young man – he has put a lot into it. That's tough."
Miami and Buchanan can petition the NCAA for a sixth season of eligibility due to his knee injury, but neither Golden nor Buchanan have said whether or not they plan to do that.
