New Construction To Ease Turnpike Traffic

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Good news for drivers: three of the biggest bottlenecks on Florida's Turnpike in Miami-Dade and South Broward are about to be history.

Starting next week, work begins on installation of an overhead electronic toll gantry at the Golden Glades toll plaza in North Miami-Dade. The $29.9 million project also includes construction of a new off-ramp at the Hollywood interchange and widening to two lanes the ramp from the Homestead Extension in Miramar to the northbound turnpike.
