Report: Palin Not Speaking At GOP Convention

TAMPA (CBSMiami) – While the Republican National Convention in Tampa will be full of conservative heavyweights, one notable former GOP star will not have a speaking role at the convention.

Former Alaska governor, and vice-presidential nominee, Sarah Palin will not speak at the convention.

"This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I'm excited to hear them," Palin wrote, via CNN.com. "As I've repeatedly said, I support Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in their efforts to replace President Obama at the ballot box…"

Palin's vice-presidential run with Senator John McCain in 2008 was disastrous and after quitting her job as Governor of Alaska halfway through her term; she retreated from the national spotlight to a degree and instead started putting her political weight behind Congressional campaigns in specific districts.
