MARGATE (CBSMiami) — During an argument Friday night with his live-in girlfriend, Francisco Javier Rodriguez reacted violently.
According to Margate police, Rodriguez’s reaction included brandishing a .380-caliber pistol and shooting his girlfriend multiple times.
Rodriguez then called 911 and reported the shooting, which occurred at the couple’s residence on NW 70th Way.
When police arrived, Rodriguez’s girlfriend was found still alive. She was immediately transported to North Broward Medical Center, where she later died from her wounds.
Rodriguez was arrested and charged with non-premeditated murder. He is being held without bond at Broward County Jail.
