State Rep. Daphne Campbell Under IRS Investigation
MIAMI (CBS4) - State Representative Daphne Campbell is under federal investigation.
CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald reports agents are tracing hundreds of thousands of dollars through bank accounts tied to a web of family healthcare businesses.
The IRS has slapped liens on Campbell and her husband Hubert totaling $145,000. She told the paper she knew nothing about the IRS case.
"I don't have no tax liens," she said when asked particulars of the IRS investigation and liens.
Her troubles have gotten to the point that the Florida Democratic Party has reportedly asked Campbell to consider stepping down. She faces two fellow Democrats in the Aug 14. primary race to represent the Miami Shores area.
