Something Extra: Most Highly-Paid "Actresses"?

MIAMI (CBS4) - A part-time Miami resident who's reportedly engaged to another South Floridian is now television's highest paid actress, according to Forbes.com.

Colombian-born bombshell Sofia Vergara has taken her breakout success in the sitcom "Modern Family" to become a media mogul making nineteen million dollars.

She partially owns a management company and, in the last year, starred in three movies and had a bunch of major commercial endorsements.

Amazingly, three of the top five earners aren't actresses, they're reality TV stars.

Kim Kardashian has perfected the art of being famous for being famous and took second place with eighteen million.  Her sister Khloe made eleven million and wasn't far behind in fifth place.

It all just mystifies me.

Bethenny Frankel has taken her reality TV stardom to write a novel and launch a syndicated talk show.  She's fourth on the Forbes list.

Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria was the only other actress in the top five.  Her three co-stars all made the top 11.

As I've said before, I enjoy some reality TV.   I'm just amazed we find people who have no discernible talent so fascinating that they make fortunes.
