Lauderdale Air Show To Return In 2013

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – After a successful return this year after a four year hiatus, the Lauderdale Air Show has announced the dates for the show in 2013.

Circle May 4th and 5th on your calendars.

"The Lauderdale Air Show will coincide with Fleet Week to provide for a spectacular weekend during the first weekend in May," said Bryan Lilley, President of the Lauderdale Air Show. "We appreciate the continued support of the United States Air Force, the Navy and the City of Fort Lauderdale."

The Lauderdale Air Show, which will kick off at noon, will again be centered at Sunrise Blvd and State Road A1A in Fort Lauderdale. Lilley said four-hour lineup will be headlined by several all-star flight teams.

Just like this year, general viewing from the beach next year will be free. Tickets for premium viewing in the Bennett Auto Supply Drop Zone at Show Center Beach start at $29. VIP hospitality from $109 is available in the Clubhouse Chalet and includes reserved parking.

Last year, storms forced the cancellation of the Sunday show. The Saturday show was a different story. Thousands packed the beach to watch the high flying performances which included demonstrations by the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles, the U.S. Navy Seals Leap Frogs, the Black Diamond Jet Team and the Red Bull Air Force One.
