Officer Involved Accident Snarls Traffic On The Palmetto
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An accident involving a Miami Gardens police officer brought traffic to a crawl on a section of the Palmetto Expressway on Tuesday morning.
Details of the accident on eastbound SR 826 at NW 37th Avenue were not immediately known.
Chopper4 over the scene spotted the officer's patrol car with front end damage near the center median concrete barrier. The officer was placed on a backboard and taken to a waiting ambulance.
Two of the three lanes in each direction were closed due to debris in the road. This caused a traffic back up for miles.
The extent of the officer's injuries have not been released.
