Family Tied Up In Fort Lauderdale Home Invasion

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Fort Lauderdale Police are looking for at least two armed robbers who barged into a home and tied up everyone inside while stealing thousands of dollars worth of illegal  fireworks.

Police say the robbery happened around 8 p.m. Thursday on the 1900 block of Southwest 38th Avenue.

According to police, the family who lived at the home sold illegal fireworks, which were stored in a U-Haul truck. The robbers took the truck, but not before tying everyone up inside the home. They were reportedly armed with guns.

There were some fireworks kept in the home, which were removed safely by the bomb squad.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
