MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The former chief of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Miami is expected to change his plea in July rather than go to trial on Internet child-pornography charges.

According to a federal court ruling, Anthony Mangione, 51, has a change of plea hearing planned on July 20th in West Palm Beach federal court.

Mangione was charged last year with possessing, receiving, and transporting child pornography using private Internet accounts.

The recent court filing did not specify which of the three counts Mangione would plead guilty to, records show.

After he was arrested, he retired as the top ICE agent in Miami. He had led the Miami ICE office since 2007 before retiring.

Mangione originally pled not guilty and remains out of jail on $75,000 bail.

If convicted of all three charges, he faced a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison.
