KENDALL (CBSMiami) – Northbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike north of the Kendall Drive exit have reopened after a fatal pedestrian crash.

According to Florida Highway Patrol officials, one person was hit and killed by multiple vehicles around 2:15 a.m. near SW 40th Street.

The drivers who struck the pedestrian all remained on the scene. This was not a hit and run, said FHP officials.

All northbound lanes were shutdown until about 7:00 a.m.

FHP officials said the victim was not carrying any identification.

It’s unclear what the person was doing in the road.

Nobody else was hurt.
