MIAMI (CBS4) – Sixty two local non-profit organizations got a big boost from The Miami Foundation’s Community Grants initiative. The Foundation awarded one million dollars in funds and Neighbors 4 Neighbors was one of the lucky recipients.

“The work that you all do at Neighbors 4 Neighbors really helps to bring our community together which is one of the key elements of this program is to bring all of Miami together,” explained Javier Alberto Soto, President and CEO of The Miami Foundation.

Soto went on to describe some of the challenges experienced in the social service sector of Miami, “ so often we’re separated and divided. Neighbors 4 Neighbors does an outstanding job of bringing Miami together.”

Many of Neighbors 4 Neighbors non-profit partners like the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Voices for Children also received funds.  Neighbors plans to use the grant to help grow their latest web project, now in development.
