LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) – One man was killed when his pick up truck slammed into a utility pole in Lauderhill.

Charles Rucker, 51, was driving in the 500 block of NW 35th Terrace around 6:35 p.m. when he lost control and hit the pole, according to police spokesman Rick Rocco.

Rucker was the only one inside the truck at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Anyone who may have seen the incident is asked to contact the Lauderhill Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit at (954) 497-4700.
