Police Divers Seach Lake Behind Missing Woman's Home

MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – The latest search for clues in the disappearance of a missing Miramar woman has taken investigators to the lake behind her townhouse.

On Wednesday Miramar police divers searched under the water for anything that may be linked to Vilet Torrez who has been missing since last March.

Torrez, a 38-year old mother of three, was last seen inside her home at 12915 SW 28th Court. Police believe foul play is involved.

Vilet's husband, Cid Torrez, is considered a person of interest in the case. Search warrants obtained by CBS4 News show that Torrez provided DNA and hair samples to police as well as his fingerprints. Family members said couple had a stormy relationship and Vilet planned to divorce Cid.

The couple's children are currently living with their grandparents.

While the family waits for answers, police continue to search areas around Miramar for Vilet Torrez and clues to her disappearance.

Last month investigators used cadaver dogs and boats to search a number of canals.

Investigators told CBS 4 News they did not recover Torrez's body and would not say if they found any evidence related to her disappearance.
