NW Miami-Dade Home Riddled With Bullets

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade Police are searching for clues after a Northwest Miami-Dade home was riddled with more than a dozen bullets early Monday morning.

CBS4's Peter D'Oench counted at least 14 bullet holes in the home and a car parked in the front yard of the home, located at NW 9th Court and 149th Street.  However, the homeowner's son told D'Oench he thinks there were many as 30 bullets sprayed at the home around 4:00 a.m. Monday.

Fortunately, nobody was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Neighbors said they were frightened when they heard the gunfire.

Jean Damilus rushed to the scene when he heard bullets were fired near his mother's home.

"My mom told me that something happened last night with bullets. She doesn't know what's going on," said Damilus. "I'm worried about it. I'm living in Orlando, my mom is in Miami and I don't want anything to happen to her."

The owner's son said the home is a rental and is currently empty and the last person who was living there may have been the target but moved out two months ago.

If you know anything about the gunfire, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
