LAKE WORTH (CBSMiami/AP) – Saturday’s heavy rain may have been a contributing factor in a multi-vehicle accident on the Florida Turnpike in Palm Beach County which sent seven people to the hospital.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon in the Lake Worth area, shutting down lanes for about an hour.
All seven people, including one trauma alert victim, were taken to the hospital for their injuries. At least three of them had serious injuries. An update on their conditions has not yet been released.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports at least four cars were involved. A cause of the crashes has not yet been determined.
