Romney's Swing Through Florida To Raise Cash

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is making a swing though Florida on Wednesday and Thursday to add to his campaign's coffer.

The Massachusetts governor plans to attend at least five fundraisers in Miami, Coral Gables, Boca Raton, Tampa and Jacksonville, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald. His campaign team hopes to raise anywhere between five and eight million dollars.

Romney began Wednesday with a rally in St Petersburg. Afterward he attended a $50,000 per person lunch at the home of developer Dick and Cornelia Corbett in Tampa.

From there he headed south. He attended a fundraiser at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Afterward he made an appearance at the Star Island home of pharmaceutical magnate Phil and Pat Frost where dinner costs $50,000.

On Thursday, Romney begins the day at a fundraiser in Jacksonville. He'll wrap his trip in Boca Raton at the home of Marc J. Leder of Sun Capital Partners in Boca Raton. Dinner: $50,000.

Those wishing to attend the photo-op VIP receptions at the various venues will have to drop $10,000 per person.
